SAIF's Education Programs
Awareness about abuse & a focus on healthy respectful relationships is a cornerstone to our prevention programs. All of our education programs are offered free of charge within our service operating area.
Our Youth education program is for those 10-17 years of age. Topics are focused on building healthy relationships, enthusiastic consent & anti-bullying/cyber-bullying. All workshops work with the typical school bell schedule:

Elementary are 37 minutes long

Junior High are 50 minutes
-
High School are 75 minutes
-
Sports teams are based on school/age level

Our Business education program focuses on employers & their employees in understanding the signs of abuse, how to help & what resources are available for co-workers that may be dealing with the affects of abuse in their personal lives.
Our Community education program focuses on key topics that are raised as current issues or concerns with regards to abuse/potential for abuse. They are announced as they are developed.

Make it Our Business
Make It Our Business provides info & education to help employers & their employees understand how to better meet Alberta's OHS Act - particularly how they can best respond to the needs of those among them who may be suffering from domestic abuse.
The workshop takes about an hour & can be completed onsite with a min. of 5 participants.
For Businesses
Cut It Out Program
Cut It Out is part of the Neighbours, Friends & Families campaign to educate salon, beauty, & spa professionals on how to recognize warning signs of domestic abuse, how to respond & safely refer their clients to local support.
The workshop takes about an hour & can be completed onsite with a min. of 5 participants.

We work in collaboration with other local agencies to provide info, support & education on topics like what you need to know when you start dating (for tweens & their parents). We update this page as topics are developed.

Who can we offer services to?
We serve residents of St Albert, Sturgeon County & the surrounding areas. At this time, we are not able to provide counselling services to Edmonton residents.
