Workshops available for grades 10-12

  • Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment

By providing room to discuss this often misunderstood and ignored issue, this three-session workshop urges students to challenge commonly held beliefs about sexual assault and sexual harassment. Students learn about the factors that allow this issue to persist in our culture, and what they can do to change those attitudes. Students discover how common sexual assault is but will leave empowered with the skills to support those around them who have been affected.

    Curriculum tie in:
    CALM 20 – “Personal Choices”

  • Healthy Relationships

In this three-session workshop, students examine the dynamics of healthy relationships, as well as unhealthy and abusive ones. Through activities that focus on boundaries, communication, power, self-care and support skills, students learn what to look for in potential partners and friends. Students also realize how they can contribute to creating healthy relationships with the people they care about. While this workshop focuses on dating relationships, students will be able to apply the concepts they learn to all kinds of relationships.

Students leave the workshop with a greater understanding of the role they can play in creating equality in their communities.
